When I was nine years old, I boarded a quick flight from Burbank, California, to Las Vegas, Nevada, to see a recently moved neighborhood friend. Being only nine, you'd think I would have been quite scared to travel alone, but I wasn't. It was exhilarating getting onto an airplane and traveling to an exciting city. As I sat on the plane and looked out the window, I thought to myself, I will live in as many places as I can and travel to as many places as possible. Coincidently, I have worked in leadership positions most of my adult life that typically required a large percentage of travel as a part of my job duties.
In all those years of traveling, 40 plus, I have always complained about how unattractive women's luggage is and how everyone's luggage looks the same. Even most high-end luxury designer's luggage is not aesthetically pleasing and is usually excessively overpriced. I strongly felt that I could produce something functional and beautiful with my strong background in interior design.
Since 2015, I have tried creating my dream of what women's luggage should look like in three other countries. I decided to make my line in the states due to the lack of control over the product quality and the design process. Especially now - in a time when America needs to go back to producing its products and wealth. I feel truly blessed to have found an extraordinary team to help my dream of beautifully designed women's luggage come to market.
What does Rune mean?
Rune is any of the characters in the ancient Germanic alphabet or a stone with those characters on them. A mark or letter of mysterious or magic significance. Like the name's definition, traveling to new places can be very mysterious and quite magical.
What is behind the names of your bags?
Perhaps a female trailblazer, a woman of the world, a role model, a woman of wisdom, a woman of significant distinction, or even a gypsy.
I hope you enjoy your new beautiful bags.
